Dear St Michael’s Church Family,

This is to confirm what you probably know already, that during the lockdown which began today there will be no church services.  The only exception to this is for funerals.  There have been protests and representations about this from faith leaders, so I wanted to be sure that the guidance had not changed before I wrote to you.

There will be no Morning Prayer on Fridays or 9.45 a.m. service on Sundays in St Michael’s until the lockdown ends.

The church building will still be open for private prayer on Saturdays, and we may extend the opening hours.

We will of course be continuing our online service as usual, and the link will go out on Saturday as usual.  This week we are working on a special service for Remembrance Sunday, including many of the elements of our usual service on this day.

The Archbishops have issued a call to make November a month of prayer for our nation.  You will find information and resources for this about this here

 https://www.churchofengland.org/more/media-centre/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-churches/call-prayer-nation

I encourage you to join in in whatever way works for you.

With my prayers,

Diana
