The latest guidance from the Church of England suggests that we should now be offering the chalice at services of Holy Communion as we used to do before Covid. We propose to resume this from Sunday 12 June. If you do not feel comfortable sharing the chalice, you can simply take the wafer, or you can ask the person presiding to dip your wafer in the wine. (It’s not considered to be hygienic for congregation members to do this themselves).
Wearing of masks in church is now optional, and It is still recommended that you sanitise your hands on entry to church.
There will be no change to the way we currently mark the Peace
Our Usual Pattern of Sunday Services is
First Sunday of the month
8.00 a.m. – a quiet service of Holy Communion (according to the Book of Common Prayer)
3.00 p.m. – Family Service – a service for all ages together with a Bible reading, activities, talk, songs and prayers
9.45 a.m. – Holy Communion in a modern version with robed choir
Our creche and Sunday school groups meet during this service
At Christmas and Easter, and on some other occasions we hold special services. You will find information about these in Upcoming Events and/or Latest News.
A number of times we have been asked if it is possible to read a copy of one of Diana’s sermons. Hence we have now included this section where we will attach copies when appropriate..
