As Christians we believe that a secure and safe home is a basic human right. Unfortunately there are many in our society who fall through the net and find themselves homeless or in insecure accommodation for a variety of reasons.
Over the past decade or more, members of St Michael’s have contributed generously in many ways giving their time and efforts to the city wide charity and in particular to Woburn Sands Winter Night Shelter. Currently on alternate Thursday nights through the winter months the shelter is hosted at St Mary’s church hall offering a friendly welcome and companionship, secure place to sleep, and home cooked food for up to 15 guests, with breakfast in the morning before guests either go to their work or continue the tasks of trying to find work and a place to live.
We are making an appeal to the family of St Michael’s to help us provide breakfasts for the 2 mornings following the night shelters in March this year. The total cost will be in the region of £60.00.
Are you willing to sacrifice the cost of an Americano or a Cappuccino to give someone a hot breakfast? We will do the rest. An envelope at the back of church for your donations.
Thank you for your support Bob & Wendy
